The Department of Real Estate (DRE) requires that you complete two (in addition to Principles) statutory
courses in order to convert the 18-Month Conditional
Real Estate License into a Full 4-Year License.
Completion of these two courses fulfills the 18-Month statutory course requirements of the
State. The exams for these courses are
in the same format as the Principles exam, ONLINE and OPEN BOOK.
Upon passing the state exam, the Department of Real Estate will issue you an 18-Month Conditional License, however, if you complete these two statutory courses prior to licensing, the state will allow you to bypass your Conditional License and issue you a full Four-Year License up front. If you do not provide the DRE with proof that you have passed two additional statutory courses at licensing, you must do so within the first 18-months of the date you received your license.
